Baptism initiates you into the Body of Christ and removes all your sin (original or otherwise). Since many of us were baptized as infants, we probably don’t remember being baptized. A person is baptized by pouring water over them and saying “I Baptize you in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” In the event of a life threatening emergency, anyone can baptize. However, normally a priest or deacon baptizes. Next time someone is baptized at Mass pay special attention — it’s a beautiful thing when someone enters the Body of Christ.
