It seems like there was so much build up and then before you know it, the Mass is ending. The concluding rite is very important as through it we are called not just to pray through the Mass, but to go forth and share the good news with the world.
Commissioning
Here we are commissioned to go and bring Christ to all those we meet. When a solider is commissioned, he has completed his training and is prepared to serve his country. After Mass, we are commissioned to serve the Church by being Christ’s hands and feet to the world around us.
Recession
As you go forth and think of yourself as a visible sign of the Eucharist. Live your life in a way that you are making Christ visible to all.
